Da·vid
/dä-vd/, n. Bib. Cleveland, OH. Tran. 1976-
Beloved son of Cleveland. Derived from Vietnamese, meaning difficult. David ruled Israel and then his house since July, 2006. Several stories about him are told in the Old Testament and the Plain Dealer’s police blotter, including his defeat of Goliath, a giant Philistine, and his six offenses of public intoxication, urination, and three cases of porch light battery. Jesus, Marilyn Monroe, and Hank Azaria are supposedly descended from him. Other famous bearers of this name include the 5th-century patron saint of Wales, the guy from Nightrider, the magician who got dumped by Claudia Schiffer, two kings of Scotland, empiricist philosopher David Hume, 12,000 used car salesmen, a barber on W. 99 & Lorain, and explorer David Livingstone. This is also the name of the hero of Charles Dickens' semiautobiographical novel 'David Copperfield' and eighteen pornographic movies.
